Swacina Park Squatter Camp — August 2020

📅 18 August 2020
📍 Swacina Park, Gauteng
👥 35 people reached

On 18 August 2020, Pastoor du Plessis led a team to the Swacina Park squatter camp — families living in makeshift shelters, with children sharing cramped spaces and few resources to weather the Covid-19 lockdown.

We arrived with food packs, essential supplies, and something equally important: the message that they had not been forgotten.

The conditions were stark. Corrugated iron, open ground, children watching quietly from doorways. But the gratitude from the families was profound. Every bag handed over was received with dignity — and that dignity matters as much as the food inside it.

This is the work we do. Not for recognition. In His name.
